Sludge Bomb (Japanese: ヘドロばくだん Sludge Bomb) is a damage-dealing Poison-type move introduced in Generation II.
It is:
- TM36 from Generation II to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
- TM52 in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!.
- TR22 in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
- TM148 in Generation IX.
Effect
Sludge Bomb inflicts damage and has a 30% chance of poisoning the target. It has no effect on targets with Bulletproof.
Sludge Bomb can be used as the first move of a Pokémon Contest combination, causing Sludge to score double the normal appeal if used in the next turn. It can also be used to finish a combination, with the user gaining 2 bonus appeal points if Sludge was used in the previous turn.

Pokémon UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Sludge Bomb is Venusaur's and Gengar's first move.
Venusaur can obtain the move by reaching Ivysaur stage at level 5 and upgrading Seed Bomb into it instead of Giga Drain. The user hurls toxic sludge to the designated location, damaging and poisoning all enemies in the radius when it lands. The sludge lingers, damaging enemies over time in the radius, slowing them, and reducing their Sp. Def (by 30% after each damaging tick and only stacks once) for a short time. Its radius increases at level 11.
Gengar can obtain the move as Haunter by reaching level 7 and upgrading Will-O-Wisp into it instead of Shadow Ball. The user hurls unsanitary sludge to the designated area, poisoning and damaging enemies over time in the radius. The poison duration increases at level 13.

Trivia
- Sludge Bomb is the only Poison-type move introduced in Generation II.
- Since Generation V, Sludge Bomb has the same description text as Sludge.
- Since Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, probably due to an oversight, the Polish anime dub has used the same translated name from Sludge Bomb as Mud Bomb.
- Oddish and Gloom could learn Sludge Bomb in Generation II, but Bellossom couldn't. This was fixed in Generation III
