Lumiose City (first visit)
Diantha (Masters)
:"What a strange question... Why would I want to play the same old roles forever? Youth may be beautiful, but it's not all there is to life. Everything changes. I want to live and change like that, too. So I look forward to playing different roles as I get older."
Diantha forms a sync pair with Diantha, Keldeo, and Shiny Diancie in Pokémon Masters EX. Both her Gardevoir and Shiny Diancie are capable of Mega Evolving. Diantha became a playable sync pair on March 31, 2021.
:"And who are you two?"
:"<player>, right? I heard Lysandre call you that. You both have lovely names. Oh, and you're both Trainers! Don't your Pokémon look happy? I'm a Trainer myself, in my off time. I look forward to us battling someday!"

Coumarine City
Diantha has been featured on the title screen since the game's release and first appeared as an NPC during the story event Shining Heart of Dragons. She has also made notable appearances in one of the game's Main Stories, the Villain Arc.
:"A strong bond?"
:"Does this make you think of something like Kalos's Xerneas Yveltal? Found only here in the Kalos region, right? Nowhere else? Maybe that's not a coincidence."
:"Bonds... They really are important to us all, aren't they? When I'm acting, I think I'm always trying to forge a bond between myself and the character I'm playing. If all I think about is how I'm nothing like a character, then I'll just hate playing it. But if I focus on what I have in common with the character and put myself in her shoes, I might be able to understand her. It's the same for people--or Pokémon."
:"Oh, never mind me! I'm just babbling about my own things. Let's have a battle the next we meet, shall we? I'm still looking forward to it!"

:"Welcome at last, dear Trainer. As you must know, I am the Champion, Diantha. Oh, but you are... You're the child I spoke to in Lumiose City and Coumarine City, aren't you?! Then that means that you are also the one that dear Augustine said... Of course! How could I--?! Oh, I must look like such a fool not to recognize you sooner! You and your Pokémon are the ones who stopped Team Flare for us all! It seems wrong of me to say this, but thank you! You saved us all... :"Oh, welcome back! I've been hoping that you would visit again! Battling against you and your Pokémon, all of you brimming with hope for the future... Honestly, it just fills me up with energy I need to keep facing each new day! It does!"
Diantha, in a version based on the anime, appeared in Pokémon Mezastar. In this game, Diantha is seen using Hawlucha, Gardevoir, Gourgeist, and Goodra. In the first set in the Double Chain series, Diantha also appeared as an opponent in an event that recreated the Masters Eight Tournament that ran from October 27 to November 21, 2022. Upon beating the character, the player can receive a Support Pokémon Ticket based on Diantha's Gardevoir, which can Mega Evolve.

In the anime
Main series
Pokémon the Series: XY
Diantha debuted in The Bonds of Evolution!, where she was shown having an exhibition battle against Magnus. With her Gardevoir, Diantha had very little trouble in defeating her opponent's Absol where it was shown she could direct her Gardevoir through mere eye contact. Ash and ashfr later encountered Diantha in disguise, trying to get a piece of chocolate cake from a shop. She agreed to have a battle with Ash, but the battle between Pikachu and Gardevoir was soon interrupted by TRT, who caught Gardevoir and took it away. With the guidance of Diantha's Key Stone, Ash and his friends were able to find Team Rocket. Diantha then Mega Evolved her Gardevoir into Mega Gardevoir, easily breaking out of its confinement and sending the Rocket trio blasting off again.

She was seen in a fantasy in Summer of Discovery!, where it is also revealed that she and Gardevoir participated in the Pokémon Summer Camp back when Diantha was younger and Gardevoir was a Ralts.

In the beginning of Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, Diantha was battling Wikstrom. She also appeared in a flashback in Garchomp's Mega Bond!.

In Championing a Research Battle!, Diantha spoke with Olympia about the threat that Kalos was to face in the future, during which Olympia showed her a vision of Zygarde. When Olympia mentioned Ash and his friends, Diantha decided to track them down and let them know what she had heard, eventually meeting them in the middle of a training session. When she was informed about the mystical power of Ash and Greninja, she requested to battle Ash again. Diantha and Gardevoir initially held the upper hand, but as the battle continued Ash and Greninja (which eventually transformed into Ash-Greninja, to Diantha's shock) kept doing better. Diantha eventually decided to get serious and Mega Evolve her Gardevoir. Ash and Greninja, however, managed to perfect their transformation and knocked Gardevoir off its feet. But before the battle could continue, Ash and Greninja both passed out. Team Rocket then tried to get their hands on a weakened Gardevoir, but Diantha easily sent them blasting off again. After thanking Gardevoir for its efforts and making sure Ash and Greninja were okay, Diantha left, but could not help but question the nature of Greninja's transformation and the role Ash and his friends were to play. She also appeared again in another flashback in the following episode.

* Hall of Fame (first time)
Diantha made further appearances since A League of His Own!, where she stood in the middle of the Lumiose Conference's stadium and welcomed the participants of the Conference. In Analysis Versus Passion! and A Riveting Rivalry!, she watched Ash's and Sawyer's battle in the semifinal round. In Kalos League Passion with a Certain Flare!, she was watching, along with Professor Sycamore, as Ash and Alain each walked towards their respective sides of the battlefield in the Lumiose Conference's stadium, for the final round of the Conference. In Finals Not for the Faint-Hearted!, she watched the start of Ash and Alain's battle in the final round of the Lumiose Conference; and in Down to the Fiery Finish!, she watched the battle's conclusion.
:"Here we are! I'm so glad to welcome you in. This grand chamber is where you enter the Kalos region's Hall of fame. This is where Pokémon Trainers will live on forever, remembered always for giving their all in battle to the Pokémon League and for the glory and light that they shared with all. Come, <player>… Your love for your Pokémon… And the way that those Pokémon gave everything they had in battle for you… We'll record them all right here for eternity."

*Hall of Fame (rematch)
In A Towering Takeover!, Coming Apart at the Dreams!, and The Right Hero for the Right Job!, Diantha was caught up in Team Flare's attack on Lumiose City.
:"We will record your experience and the glory that you've shown in facing the Pokémon League here in this grand hall! This will be your--and your Pokémon's--legacy! Come, <player>… Your love for your Pokémon… And the way that those Pokémon gave everything they had in battle for you… We'll record them all right here for eternity."

You know, I'd really like to learn more about how a strong Trainer like you raises his/her Pokémon. This probably feels a bit sudden, but how would you feel about trading one your Pokémon for my Ralts here?"
::No: "No, of course I understand... I'm sure all of your Pokémon are like precious friends to you, right? You can't just give away a friend to someone else that easily!"
::Yes: (after selecting the Pokémon to trade) "Heheh. We Trainers all feel a bit nervous when trading Pokémon... but I'm sure it's nothing compared to how the Pokémon must feel!"

* After the trade
She appeared again in a flashback in Till We Compete Again!.
:"Hello, <Pokémon>. I'm glad to meet you. Was it a bit shocking to be traded? I hope you'll come to trust and like me. I promise that I'll take good care of you."

In Aim For The Eight!, Diantha was revealed to be one of the eight competitors in the Master Class of the World Coronation Series, ranked fifth.

:"I just...I just don't know what to say... I can hardly express this feeling... But I'm so glad I got to be Champion and Grand Duchess... Battling you and your Pokémon makes everything seem worth it!"

* After defeating the player
In Curtain Up! Fight the Fights!, Diantha participated in the Masters Eight Tournament, along with the rest of the Masters Eight, reuniting with Ash, Alain, and Steven, and meeting Iris and the other regional Champions. Her first opponent was chosen to be Lance. While waiting for her match, Diantha accepted Iris's request to have a selfie with her and Cynthia. After Leon and Alain's battle had concluded, Diantha headed to the battlefield to start her battle with Lance. In the next episode, she emerged victorious in her battle, advancing her to the semifinals to face Leon. Following her victory, Diantha was interviewed by a disguised Team Rocket, where Jessie demanded that she'd use her Gourgeist as her finishing Pokémon in her next match, much to her confusion. In the following episodes, Diantha watched the rest of the quarterfinal matches with the other Masters Eight members.
:"Oh, fantastic! What did you think? My team was pretty cool, right? It's a bit embarrassing to show off, but I love to show their best sides!"

Sprites
In It's... Champion Time!, Diantha battled Leon in the semi-finals. Despite her best efforts, she was unable to defeat even half of his team before her Pokémon were knocked out. As a result, she was eliminated from the tournament. In the following episodes, she joined Leon in the waiting room to watch Cynthia's match against Ash. Prior to doing so, however, she briefly talked with Cynthia in the stadium hallway, and told her that she had faith that Cynthia would be the one to reach the finals and break Leon's winning streak. To her surprise, however, Cynthia confessed that she intended to retire from battling after the tournament was over. After the battle, she met up with Cynthia again, to which the latter revealed her change of heart, much to Diantha's delighted relief.

In the anime
From A Flood of Torrential Gains! to Partners in Time!, she and Cynthia watched Ash's match against Leon. After Ash had defeated Leon and become the World Champion, an excited Diantha expressed her sudden urge to have a battle, which an equally excited Cynthia agreed to have with her right away.

Diantha made her debut appearance in the Pokémon anime in The Bonds of Evolution!, where she was shown having an exhibition battle against Magnus.

Just like in the games, Diantha is a famous movie star. She starred in a movie titled "Movies in the Pokémon world". She is also a fan of desserts, going out of her way to sample the local delicacies whenever she arrives in a new town. Her manager is Kathi Lee.
Character
Just like in the games, Diantha is a famous movie star. She starred in a movie titled "Movies in the Pokémon world". She is also a fan of desserts, going out of her way to sample the local delicacies whenever she arrives in a new town. Unlike her manager, Kathi Lee, Diantha is much more relaxed and open, always showing warmth to those around her. She views the bond between Trainer and Pokémon to be of the utmost importance for growth. Such focus allows her to communicate to Gardevoir how and when to dodge simply by making eye contact and looking in a certain direction.

She was seen in a flashback in Mega Revelations!, and she also was seen in a fantasy in Summer of Discovery!.
In battle, Diantha's strategy varies depending on which Pokémon she currently is battling with, a fact that leads others to describe her as "an enigma." She views a battle as a performance, to which she always displays a high degree of showmanship and elegance. She has an affinity for support and interference moves such as Light Screen, Reflect, and Trick-or-Treat to gain various advantages, combining such tactics with skillful and serene offensive combos. Furthermore, she is highly perceptive, able to decipher an opponent's strategy and attack pattern and instantly form a counterstrategy.

Diantha made a brief appearance at the beginning of the first XY movie, Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, in which she was shown battling Wikstrom. She also appeared in a flashback in Garchomp's Mega Bond!.
In Pokémon Journeys: The Series, Diantha is revealed to have a very close friendship with Cynthia.

She appeared again in XY117, where she spoke with Olympia about the threat that Kalos was to face in the future, during which Olympia showed her a vision of Zygarde.

Diantha debuts in the X & Y. She is one of the 17 people that have received a Key Stone from Gurkinn. She first appears at Lysandre Café, where she shields Y and her friends from Lysandre's Pokémon with her Mega Gardevoir. The two converse on what they think beauty represents, which ends when Lysandre leaves to do other business. After realizing that Diantha is a famous movie star, Y excitedly introduces herself to Diantha. Before they can talk, Y's excitement brings the attention of many of Diantha's fans, who immediately rush in to see her. Diantha later bids farewell to Y and her friends.

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
In PS616, a younger Diantha was seen at the Tower of Mastery in a flashback of Steven's time as one of Gurkinn's students.

X & Y
Diantha debuted in Chespin Sows the Seeds of Change. She is one of several people who studied under and received a Key Stone from Gurkinn. She is first seen at Lysandre Café using her Mega Diantha to shield Y and her friends from Lysandre's Pokémon. After Lysandre left on other business, Y's excitement at meeting a famous actress attracted the attention of Diantha's fans, forcing everyone to flee out the back door before going their separate ways.

Diantha later decides to take a break from acting after her latest movie had come out, much to the shock of her fans and the media. She meets up with Korrina, who had gone into hiding after a brush with Team Flare cost her and Gurkinn the Tower of Mastery. They find Gurkinn being attacked by Team Flare Admin Chalmers and his army of Skrelp and Dragalge. With her Mega Gardevoir, Diantha drives Chalmers away and rescues Gurkinn. The three decide to travel together and find Yveltal's cocoon form before Team Flare, who have already uncovered Xerneas's tree form, does. Further on in their journey, Diantha and the others find a wild Diancie being attacked by a thief. They manage to defeat the thief with their Mega-Evolved Pokémon, but Diancie is forced to find a new home. As it thanks them and leaves, Gurkinn reveals that Diancie is capable of Mega Evolution.
In Connecting with Gardevoir, Diantha introduced herself to Korrina, Gurkinn's granddaughter and fellow Mega Evolution Successor. She led Korrina to a nearby river, where Gurkinn was under attack from Team Flare Admin Chalmers. After they freed Gurkinn, the trio combined the power of their Mega-Evolved Pokémon to defeat Chalmers. Diantha then revealed she went on vacation from acting to join Gurkinn and Korrina stop the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal from falling into Team Flare's clutches.

Later, the group travels to 8, where Team Flare is preparing to take Xerneas's tree by using a group of mind-controlled citizens from Vaniville Town. They find X and his friends captured by Essentia after a failed attempt to rescue their fellow townspeople. While Gurkinn stays behind to rescue X and his friends and Korrina faces Celosia alone, Diantha is ambushed by Malva, who reveals herself as a member of Team Flare and attacks. Malva traps herself and Diantha in a Magic Room, which isolates both of them from the outside world. Malva explains to Diantha that she is simply stalling for time while Team Flare manages to move Xerneas to their base. Although Y and Shauna attempt to break the barrier from the outside, their attempts fail and eventually the Magic Room sinks into the ground.
In Tying Trevenant, Diantha, Gurkinn, and Korrina arrived at 9 to help X and his friends stop Team Flare from taking Xerneas' tree form to Team Flare's base. Gurkinn helped X take on Essentia while Korrina went ahead to keep Celosia from transporting Xerneas. Diantha was attacked by Malva, who trapped both of them in a Magic Room to stall for time while Xerneas was moved. Y and Shauna tried breaking the barrier, but were unable to prevent it from sinking into the ground. Team Flare eventually obtained Xerneas and used it to fuel the ultimate weapon, but the combined efforts of X and his friends weakened the device enough to prevent it from taking any lives. Malva later revealed she defeated Diantha and successfully captured Yveltal, who was sleeping in cocoon form in the ground underneath Xerneas's tree. Due to the Legendary Pokémon being equal in strength, both sides were forced to have a ceasefire.

Team Flare successfully obtains Xerneas, but X and his friends manage to prevent the ultimate weapon from taking any innocent lives by weakening the weapon of most of its power. Despite this and Y having Xerneas join her team, Malva reveals that she defeated Diantha and managed to capture Yveltal, which had been sleeping as a cocoon in the ground underneath Xerneas's tree. Due to Xerneas and Yveltal's equal strength, the two sides are forced to have a ceasefire otherwise the battle will lead into an endless war between the two Legendary Pokémon.
In Pinsir Glares, Diantha was revealed to still be alive, having been hidden underground by Blue to avoid the ultimate weapon's beam. When Blue revealed he was searching for Zygarde, a Legendary Pokémon said to be able to suppress Xerneas and Yveltal's power. Diantha agreed to help and the two set off to search for clues to Zygarde's whereabouts. Diantha and Blue traveled to 15, where they met up with X and his friends before Diantha went to see Gurkinn at the Lost Hotel. In Zygarde Appears, Diantha and Blue arrived at Anistar City, where they found Zygarde interrupting a battle between X's group and Essentia. Before they could land, Essentia managed to catch Zygarde and escape.

Once both sides retreated, Diantha is revealed to have been hidden underground by Blue, an old acquaintance of hers, to avoid the ultimate weapon's beam. Blue reveals to Diantha that he is searching for "Z", the Legendary Pokémon Zygarde, which has the power to end Xerneas and Yveltal's endless war. Diantha agrees to help Blue search for clues to Zygarde's whereabouts.
In Malamar Traps, Diantha, Blue, and X's group set off to confront Team Flare at the Pokémon Village. Along the way, the group was attacked by Xerosic, who had his Malamar put everyone to sleep with Hypnosis. In Yveltal Steals, Diantha was revealed to have woken up and went ahead to village. She was ambushed by Malva, who used her Talonflame to steal Diantha's Mega Charm before taking to the skies. Diantha was assisted by Y, who used her Fletchy to burn Malva's hand and make her drop the Mega Charm. Y attempted to assist Diantha, but she refused and told Y to let her finish the battle alone. In Xerneas Gives, Malva witnessed Lysandre's defeat, distracting her long enough for Diantha's Gardevoir to take down her Talonflame. Diantha tried to rescuing Malva, but was rejected and forced to watch as Malva fell onto the rubble below after failing to save Lysadre. After Team Flare was defeated, Diantha and the remaining Elite Four members carried Malva's unconscious body away.

Diantha in the anime

Diantha debuted in The Bonds of Evolution!, where she was shown having an exhibition battle against Magnus. With her Gardevoir, Diantha had very little trouble in defeating her opponent's Absol where it was shown she could direct her Gardevoir through mere eye contact. Ash and his friends later encountered Diantha in disguise, trying to get a piece of chocolate cake from a shop. She agreed to have a battle with Ash, but the battle between Pikachu and Gardevoir was soon interrupted by Team Rocket, who caught Gardevoir and took it away.

In A Towering Takeover!, Coming Apart at the Dreams!, and The Right Hero for the Right Job!, Diantha was caught up in Team Flare's attack on Lumiose City.

In Rocking Kalos Defenses! and Forming a More Perfect Union!, Diantha helped destroy the Giant Rock.

She appeared again in a flashback in Till We Compete Again!.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series

Diantha with Cynthia and Iris

In Splash, Dash, and Smash for the Crown!, Diantha was on the cover of a magazine read by Jessie.

Diantha, along with her Gardevoir, appeared on a television screen in The Future is Now, Thanks to Strategy!.

In Aim For The Eight!, Diantha was revealed to be one of the eight competitors in the Master Class of the World Coronation Series, ranked fifth.

Character

Just like in the games, Diantha is a famous movie star. She starred in a movie titled "My Sweet, Sweet Lady".

In Pokémon Journeys: The Series, Diantha is revealed to have a very close friendship with Cynthia.

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc

In PS616, a younger Diantha was seen at the Tower of Mastery in a flashback of Steven's time as one of Gurkinn's students.

X & Y arc

Diantha debuted in Chespin Sows the Seeds of Change. She is one of several people who studied under and received a Key Stone from Gurkinn. She is first seen at Lysandre Café using her Mega Gardevoir to shield Y and her friends from Lysandre's Pokémon. After Lysandre left on other business, Y's excitement at meeting a famous actress attracted the attention of Diantha's fans, forcing everyone to flee out the back door before going their separate ways.

In Tying Trevenant, Diantha, Gurkinn, and Korrina arrived at Route 9 to help X and his friends stop Team Flare from taking Xerneas' tree form to Team Flare's base.

Diantha and Blue traveled to Route 15, where they met up with X and his friends before Diantha went to see Gurkinn at the Lost Hotel. In Zygarde Appears, Diantha and Blue arrived at Anistar City, where they found Zygarde interrupting a battle between X's group and Essentia. Before they could land, Essentia managed to catch Zygarde and escape.
