Pokémon the Series: Black & White
Chili debuted in Triple Leaders, Team Threats! alongside his brothers, and fellow Gym Leaders Cilan and Cress. Along with Cress, he made his first appearance when Cilan brought Ash to the Gym. He began offering Ash various items off the lunch menu, who declined, exclaiming he wanted to battle the Gym Leader. Chili and his brothers introduced themselves as the Leaders and gave Ash the choice of who he wanted to battle. In a first, Ash decided to battle all three brothers. Chili was the first to battle Ash and lost against his Tepig.
In Dreams by the Yard Full!, Chili and his brothers presented Ash with the Trio Badge. Later Chili and Cress said their goodbyes to Cilan, who decided to travel with Ash and Iris.
Cilan mentioned in A Rival Battle for Club Champ! that Trip had battled Chili and defeated his Pansear with his Servine, earning himself the Trio Badge. He appeared in a flashback in A Connoisseur's Revenge!, where he and Cress informed Burgundy that Cilan had gone on a journey and could not battle her again, so he battled her in Cilan's place and was defeated.
At some point, Chili left the Striaton Gym on a journey, after becoming frustrated with a series of consecutive losses. He met up with Cilan, Ash, and Iris in Driftveil City in A Call for Brotherly Love!, where he challenged Cilan to a battle. However, his Pansear was quickly defeated by Cilan's Pansage. Angered, Chili blamed the loss on Pansear, and Pansear ran away. Chili left to relieve his frustration by stuffing his face when Cilan approached him and offered to help, after learning from Cress that Chili's role as Gym Leader has suffered because of his consecutive losses. Chili apologized to Pansear and helped it try to learn Solar Beam. After successfully learning the move and refining his techniques, his Pansear had a battle with Ash and Oshawott and won. Chili thanked his brother for his help and planned to return to the Striaton Gym.
Chili reappeared in a fantasy along with Cress in A Surface to Air Tag Battle Team!. He also reappeared in flashbacks in Curtain Up, Unova League!, and Crowning the Scalchop King!. In addition, Chili made cameo appearances in the ending Let's Join Hands.
In Survival of the Striaton Gym!, Chili and Cress journeyed to Paladin Island and appealed to Cilan to protect the Striaton Gym by defeating Morana. Chili had rashly wagered ownership of the Gym on Morana's victory over all three brothers in response to her accusations of his being afraid. He returned to Striaton City once Cilan had defeated Morana.

Chili also made a cameo appearances in the ending credits of Genesect and the Legend Awakened.

- Main article: Chili's Pansear
Pansear is the only known Pokémon of Chili's. It was sent out while he, Cilan and Cress were battling Red's Clefairy. Unfortunately, Clefairy takes the attacks the elemental monkeys were using and makes himself some green tea.
Pokémon Adventures
Chili, along with his brothers Cilan and Cress, is one of the Leaders of the Striaton Gym. Despite each brother obtaining their job as Gym Leaders individually, they were all assigned to the same Gym. This decision was due to the types they specialized in being useful in teaching new Trainers about type matchups.
Like his brothers, Chili tends to keep his arms in a certain position. In his case, he keeps them held at his hips.
Chili debuted in Welcome to Striaton City!!, where the Striaton Gym was visited by a young Trainer named Black. Although only Black challenged the Gym, his friends Cheren and Bianca were allowed to participate as well. After completing the Gym puzzle, Black, Cheren, and Bianca faced the triplets in a three-on-three "Trio Battle". With their knowledge of type matchups, Chili and his brothers initially held the advantage, even after Chili's Pansear was knocked out. Despite this, the battle ended in the Striaton Gym Leaders' loss when Black's Tep used Pansage's fallen leaves to revive its fallen teammates. With only two active Pokémon on the Striaton Gym Leaders' side when the time limit ended, Black and his friends were declared the winners by default and were each awarded a Trio Badge as proof of their victory.
In The Shadow Triad, Chili, Cilan, and Cress confronted the Shadow Triad at the P2 Laboratory. The brothers were given the task of pursuing Team Plasma if the other Gym Leaders failed to protect the Dark Stone from them. The Shadow Triad proved to be very strong, and even after they evolved their Pokémon, Chili and his brothers were unable to defeat their opponents. The brothers were rescued by Keldeo, who had been watching the battle and determined the Gym Leaders to be the better humans. The Shadow Triad took that opportunity to try and capture Keldeo, forcing its mentors, Cobalion, Virizion, and Terrakion, to step in and rescue it, using their swords to send both the Gym Leaders and Shadow Triad flying.
